Accept Jesus

Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6. Jesus is the only way to Heaven because we have all sinned (Romans 3:23). We have all done things that God has sworn to punish. God is loving but He is also Holy and Just and will judge the world according to His standards of righteousness, the Ten Commandments (Psalm 9:7-8). Jesus said to get to Heaven you have to “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48.

James 2:10 says “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” Because we have all broken God’s Law sometime in our life, God said He is going to Judge us on what we did. The punishment is eternal separation from God in Hell. Jesus describes Hell as a place of “wailing and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 8:12, 13:42). None of us want to go to Hell including God.

That’s why 2000 years ago God made a way for us to go to Heaven and fulfill His justice. God sent Jesus Christ into the world to suffer and die for our sins. We broke God’s law and Jesus took our punishment for us. In Jesus Christ, God’s Love and Justice is revealed.

It’s like we are taken to court for committing many serious felonies. The judge says that it’s a million dollar fine or life in prison. Say you’re broke so you can’t pay the fine. As the jailer is leading you away, a Man comes in and writes a check for one million dollars, paying your fine. The punishment is fulfilled, justice is satisfied and you are free to go.

That what Jesus Christ did for us 2000 years by dying on a cross, absorbing our sins upon Himself, taking our punishment. Jesus never sinned once (1 Peter 2:22) thus He is the only One who could pay for our sins because He had no sins of Himself to pay for. Each one of us has sins to account for and no good work will erase any of them. God says our ‘good works’ are like filthy rags to Him (Isaiah 64:6).

Jesus said that He came to “give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45) and that His blood would be “shed for many for the remission of sins.” Please turn to Jesus Christ. Confess and forsake your sins to Him today. Then read the Bible daily and start to pray (talk to God). Find a church that teaches the whole Bible as the Word of God and start going. God will never let you down.
