Why do you guys keep annoying us, trying to talk to us about Jesus?

Why do you guys keep annoying us, trying to talk to us about Jesus? I know many people find us annoying. I’ve heard people say to not push my beliefs on them and they don’t want to hear what I say. Going to the reasons why people like me and many other do what we do breaks down into various reasons.

The first and biggest reason people go out witnessing is because Jesus told us to go out and witness to people. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus said to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:” (KJV). Mark 16:15 records Jesus saying “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (KJV) In Acts 4:19 after Peter and John were arrested for witnessing to people about Jesus and told not to do it again under the penalty of death, the Bible says, “But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.” (KJV) Basically, we are to listen to God over man.

Another reason people go out witnessing is found in God’s feelings about people who have not turned to Him. 2 Peter 3:9 says that “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (KJV) God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell. It’s the worst place anyone can go. Jesus said in Matthew 25:41 that Hell was created for the devil and his minions but when people rejected God and started to do things that God said not to do, people started to send themselves to Hell. God even cried out in Ezekiel 18:23 “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?” (KJV) God made a Way for us not to go to Hell but many people don’t like the Way and they choose to reject Jesus, thus taking their own punishment upon themselves.

A final reason why people go out witnessing is because we don’t want to see anyone go to Hell either. When someone sits down and actually thinks about Hell, its very scary thought. To think that people will have to suffer an eternity of punishment for the bad things they did in life is scary. If someone actually thinks about how truly bad Hell is, they wouldn’t wish it on their worst enemies, let alone on people who they don’t even know. This is a major reason why people go out witnessing. We don’t want to see anyone go to Hell, many of us realizing that’s where we would have gone if God hadn’t saved us. So we go out and try and tell others what God has done in sending His Son Jesus Christ to suffer and die for us and rose to life again three days later so He could raise us at the end of the world. In Jesus Christ we can be saved. Some people have happily heard us and some not, but who would sacrifice a few people to Hell just so they don’t ‘annoy’ others.
